As a technology-oriented lawyer, he provides solutions for emerging technologies, including Fintech, Proptech, Blockchain, Smart Contracts, and Data Analysis, catering to startups. His extensive knowledge spans law, business, politics, technology, and international relations. He frequently appears as an expert on prestigious political talk shows and major science and tech events as a keynote speaker. Additionally, he serves as an Advisor to various international companies and analysts, leveraging his deep understanding of complex legal and business issues.
Junior Partner
Yunxia leads the China Department at Esquare, where she skillfully manages intricate cross-border transactions, dispute resolution, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Her extensive experience encompasses diverse regions, including Europe, Africa, North America, Oceania, and Asia, advising on a variety of complex issues, such as offshore Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) and Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) projects, venture capital investments, and corporate structuring strategies. In her role, she also provides vital legal and tax services to the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, along with support for various Chinese state-owned and private enterprises. Yunxia's expertise ensures strict compliance with local regulations and safeguards investment interests in challenging frontier markets, fostering growth and stability for her clients.

Hassan Raza is a legal professional specializing in corporate and technology law, holding degrees in Law, Politics, and International Relations from the University of London. He has managed high-value joint ventures, blockchain regulation, and corporate structuring, advising on transactions around USD 1.5 billion with a Chinese construction group. Additionally, he has guided a leading Middle Eastern virtual exchange on regulatory compliance and worked with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), as well as advising the Chinese Embassy on legal matters. Since 2020, Hassan has been part of Esquare Legal, contributing to corporate and tech law advancements in emerging markets. He also teaches at University of London Affiliate Centres in Islamabad and works in healthcare advocacy.

Sana Maroof Khan is a prominent legal expert and the Chief Operating Officer at Esquare Legal. She possesses extensive experience advising Multi-National Companies and Decentralized Applications in the realms of digital assets, digital exchanges, fintech, blockchain, gaming, and the metaverse. Her work spans clients in the UK, Poland, Germany, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, adeptly navigating intricate international legal frameworks and providing innovative, jurisdiction-specific solutions. At Esquare Legal, Sana is instrumental in propelling the firm's strategic growth and operations, focusing on emerging technology sectors. Zakwan Hazarvi serves as our Senior Associate, holding a degree in Comparative Studies of Islamic and British Law from the International Islamic University. He has contributed to high-profile projects involving multinational Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and cryptocurrency platforms across the UK, India, Estonia, UAE, Pakistan, and Malaysia. His expertise includes regulatory licensing of fintech entities and managing end-to-end processes from compliance documentation to liaising with authorities. Zakwan oversees ongoing regulatory reporting, corporate governance, and AML/KYC implementation, ensuring adherence to financial regulations. Additionally, he plays a key role in managing the firm’s litigation portfolio and holds multiple Shariah certifications. Zakwan has also authored multiple white papers on the Shariah compliance of digital currencies and related products.

Gul Rukh completed her LLB from the university of London’s external programme and has been working with the firm since 2022. During this time she has become a key member of the firms fintech team. She has acquired licenses for Non Banking Finance Companies (NBFC’s) for a variety of clients. She frequently advises both startups and financial institutions on matters pertaining to licensing, regulatory compliance and structuring. She also has extensive experience in cross border incorporations, helping companies navigate complex legal landscapes, with a strong focus on UAE free zones including DIFC, ADGM, Innovation City, IFZA, and RAKEZ, advising clients on optimal incorporation strategies that balance efficiency and scalability. Beyond her role in the fintech space, she also contributes regularly to Esquare think tank through blogs. Her most up to date work involves co authoring a research paper on “Central Bank Digital Currency Implementation in Pakistan”

Haider is a legal and financial advisor specializing in bringing traditional assets onto the blockchain. Starting his journey with the firm as an intern, his dedication and sharp insights quickly made him an indispensable member of the team. As a dedicated Tokenization Advisor, he now helps clients convert financial instruments like debt and equity into fully compliant digital securities.
His focus is on creating legally solid token offerings and simplifying the complexities of global regulations. Haider has successfully obtained Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) licenses for clients in numerous countries, enabling them to operate confidently in the international market.

Ayaan is a distinguished graduate of NUST Law School, recognized with the Chancellor’s Silver Medal for exceptional academic achievement, ranking in the top 1% and earning seven High Achiever’s Medals. His research focuses on Blockchain Arbitration, exploring innovative legal frameworks for decentralized dispute resolution. He has participated in numerous international moot courts and Web 3 conferences. Ayaan has completed rigorous training at leading international law firms in Germany and Serbia, where he assisted international sporting organizations with compliance matters and proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). He has also served as counsel before FIFA dispute resolution bodies. His professional interests include technology law, blockchain, data protection, arbitration, commercial law, and sports law.
